Voice Recognition Computer Specification

In order to ensure that Voice Recognition technology can function to it's optimal level it is crucial that a computer of the correct specification is used.

Currently we are recommending the following minimum specification for computers hosting Dragon Voice Recognition products.

  • Pentium 4, Pentium M, or Pentium D processor

  • 2GB of RAM.

  • Full duplex multi-channel soundcard.

  • Windows 2000/XP-Home/Media Center Edition/XP-Pro Operating System

It should be noted that the on-board sound system of a computer should not be used, as due to the close proximity of the Sound Chip to the rest of the system electronics this sound source tends to be too noisy.

For Desktop computers we would recommend the SoundBlaster Audigy Series of soundcards.

Where a Laptop computer is to be used a USB Sound Converter is recommended.
