INFOTECH - July/August 2007In this month's magazine, we bring you extensive coverage of the Sight Village exhibition. We have close to six hours of interviews with companies and organisations. So whether you could or could not get to the event, this is your chance to find out more about what the exhibitors can offer. The coverage includes three themes. The first is portable media devices, where we discuss mainstream players, the Victor Reader Stream and the VI Player which is a new device about to enter this exciting arena. The second theme is GPS technology, focusing upon specialist and non-specialist devices to assist visually impaired people while travelling. The third, perhaps inevitably, is screen-reading and we talk to the major players in this field. In addition, the coverage of Sight Village delivers a great deal more than the three themes, including looking at some products which are new and were launched by international companies at the exhibition. At the start of the magazine, we briefly describe each item so listeners gain a sense of what is to come, and once the coverage is complete we spend a little time giving our thoughts of Sight Village and talking about some of the products we intend to follow through in greater depth in upcoming magazine editions.
