Infotech Contents March/April 2010
The primary focus of this month's Infotech magazine relates to the CSUN
technology conference held in San Diego in March 2010.
Following the opening remarks for the magazine, brian talks with the
American Printing House for the Blind about the new Bookport Plus
portable media player and recorder. This player uses the same hardware
components at the previously reviewed Plextalk Pocket, however the
firmware interface is completely different. See how it compares.
Next we have two presentations from Freedom Scientific, the first
relates to the Focus 40 Blue Braille display, and the second concerns
JAWS for Windows, including a brief glimpse into JAWS version 12.
We then hear a presentation from the RNIB relating to the Windows 7
operating system.
Finally, J-Tools version 3.1, a suite of productivity tools for use with
the JAWS screen-reader, is about to be released. We learn of the new
features and improvements.
