We are pleased to announce the launch of a new and exciting opportunity for people to receive a low cost computer training and technical support service over the Internet. Using groundbreaking technology from Serotek Incorporated of America, we can offer a complete remote access solution with many benefits.
Have you ever switched on your computer one morning at your home or place of work only to discover that your specialist Access Technology package is not functioning correctly? Does your boss sometimes ask you to carry out a specific computer-related task but because of the specialist technology you use you are unsure how to go about it? Have you always wanted to take advantage of having some formal IT training but you have not been able to afford it? These are just three out of the many situations are remote access solutions could now resolve!
When initially providing the remote access support to a customer, a small file needs to be installed onto your computer. A link to download the file can be provided as part of an Email message. Once easily installed, a keystroke is pressed, a word previously agreed between you and the Support Technician is typed, the Enter key is pressed and we then have complete control of the computer. The process of entering the predefined word ensures complete security and means we can only use the computer with your express permission. You stay in control of the computer at all times, and so if the Support Technician enters directories or folders you do not want to be examined, you can intervene or even stop the remote session.
If you are a user of Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional voice input software, the agreed password can be entered with your voice or if using the JAWS screen-reader, a keystroke to enter the word can be assigned to a key on a Braille display for people with limited dexterity. When connected to the computer, we may be able to hear the audio output from your screen-reading software which makes E-Training highly interactive and beneficial.
There are four remote access packages available:
- Single Incident: This allows you to call our offices and arrange a date and time for a Technician to resolve a problem you are experiencing with your computer. At the appointed time we will then connect to the computer and attempt to resolve the difficulty.
- Technical Support Maintenance Contract: This allows you to contact our offices and arrange for up to 20 incidents to be resolved during the twelve months following the date of purchase of the Maintenance Contract.
- Technical Support Maintenance Contract paid monthly: If you are unable to afford an annual payment for the Technical Support Maintenance Contract, this is an ideal way of ensuring complete peace of mind as you can contact us for ongoing technical support while having the freedom to cancel the payments and cease the support when you want to. You can gain assistance for up to 20 Incidents per year using this plan.
- E-Training: Our staff have a wealth of experience in providing technical support and training to employees of corporate companies and organisations through to individuals at home. We have staff who specialise in a wide variety of Access Technologies serving a range of need including visual impairment and Dyslexia, and we are pleased to be able to bring training to you at your home or place of employment through our ETraining service. When training you using your computer, we can either talk to you on the telephone, using the Skype Internet Telephony free software or from within our own dedicated and secure Internet-based conference room which is available to us due to the support of Accessible World www.accessibleworld.org and can accommodate up to 30 people at any time.
All four of the above packages are only available to residents of the United Kingdom. If an Incident cannot be resolved no charge is payable or it does not count as one of the 20 annual Incidents which form part of your Technical Support Maintenance Contract.
