Working with PDF Files
I thought I would pass on the following very useful information for J-Say users.
While it is possible to listen to and read PDF files with JAWS and consequently J-Say technology using Adobe Reader, Jamal Mazrui has written an incredibly useful program called PDF to TXT. It is lightening fast, and does everything he says it does within the accompanying documentation. As the name suggests, the PDF file or files are converted into plain text which may be much easier for some J-Say users to read and move through.
This program lends itself beautifully to J-Say technology because you can completely control it using your voice. If using J-Say Pro, a person can move through the simple easy to use dialog box using the commands "next control", "previous control" or "speak control" can be used to hear the focused control. The command "speak dialog box" will of course read the entire dialog should you want this.
Additionally, once you become familiar with the buttons and controls within the dialog, you can simply voice the name of the control to move to it.
Jamal has done a great job with this program.
